Deputy Crowe said: "I was notified yesterday that racist graffiti was drawn onto the exterior walls of Tallaght Stadium and I informed the Environment Department of South Dublin County Council of the exact nature of these slogans.

"I welcome the prompt response of South Dublin County Council who sent out a team to immediately remove this offensive graffiti.

"I encourage all residents to be vigilant against all forms of racism in Tallaght and to inform South Dublin County Council and An Garda Síochána if they notice any more racist graffiti. We must all work together to ensure Tallaght continues to be a safe and welcoming area to people of all ethnicities, races and religions."
